Description

Hendrik is a Generation 8 Legendary Marksman whose sea-creature theme hides a practical mix of area control, damage growth and troop Defense effects. The captain of Neptune searches for a lost underwater nation after surviving a shipwreck and glimpsing a submerged city. His engineer Sonya shares the voyage, although her interest in treasure differs from his personal obsession with finding the place again.

Area pressure that grows as enemies fall

Song of R’lyeh damages targets within its area and stuns them for 1.5 seconds. Its level-5 damage is 300% of Hendrik’s Attack. Sinking Anchor supplies a second area attack, reaching 140% of Attack at level 5. The stun belongs to Song of R’lyeh; an anchor hit has no separate control duration listed.

Lamprey’s Kiss increases Hendrik’s damage dealt with each defeated enemy. At skill level 5, each stack adds 2.5%, with a limit of 15 stacks. The condition makes the pace of enemy defeats relevant to his contribution. A battle that gives him time to build stacks can look different from one decided before many enemies fall.

The skill description does not specify the exact last-hit credit rules. Avoid assuming either that Hendrik must personally land every finishing blow or that any possible summoned unit always awards a stack. It also lists damage growth rather than healing, despite the life-draining impression of its name.

Editorial recommendation: compare Hendrik’s early and late fight impact in Arena or Exploration. Watch whether his area stun buys useful time and whether he survives long enough for the stacking effect to matter. Starting a comparison with the maximum stack bonus already assumed can distort the result.

Expedition Defense effects on both sides

SkillScope and timingLevel-5 value
Worm’s RavageAll enemy troops25% less Defense
Armor of BarnaclesAll friendly troops, for two turns every four turns30% more Defense
Dragon’s HeirAttack with Hendrik’s Marksmen against all enemies every three turns40% damage

Worm’s Ravage lowers the opposing formation’s Defense, while Armor of Barnacles increases the friendly formation’s Defense during its active window. These are changes to Defense, not direct statements that damage rises or falls by the same percentage.

Dragon’s Heir follows a three-turn cycle, separate from the four-turn defensive cycle. Its listed coefficient describes the periodic attack against all enemies; it is not a permanent damage bonus to every friendly troop. Lamprey’s Kiss belongs to hero battles and does not become a troop-battle stacking effect.

Abyss Driver and the tentacle decoy

Hydra’s Dance leaves tentacles behind after the spirit from Song of R’lyeh disappears. Nearby enemies are drawn to attack them. At weapon skill level 5, the tentacles have Health equal to 30% of Hendrik’s initial Health and exist for five seconds. Initial Health is the reference, not his remaining Health at the moment they appear.

That gives the weapon a concrete defensive utility to observe: enemies spending attacks on the tentacles. Their Health pool and limited duration should be kept visible in the comparison rather than describing them as an indestructible, battlefield-wide taunt.

Abyssal Blessing raises Rally Troops’ Attack by 15% at skill level 5. This Expedition rally benefit is separate from the Exploration summon. Weapon reference stats are listed with the two effects below.
