Description

Hector is a Generation 5 Legendary Infantry hero whose personal combat kit becomes more dangerous below half Health, while his troop kit includes a front-loaded offensive boost. His gladiator background explains the emphasis on pressure and endurance. His story also challenges his early belief that strength belongs only to individuals, after ordinary survivors work together to rescue others.

Sword Whirlwind and the low-Health threshold

Sword Whirlwind increases Hector’s Attack Speed for four seconds and makes him immune to Freeze, Stun and other control effects during that window. At skill level 5 the Attack Speed bonus reaches 120%. Control immunity is not a statement that he takes no damage.

Below 50% Health, Desperado reduces the damage he takes and Adrenaline Surge raises his Attack. Their level-5 values are 60% damage reduction and 48% Attack. These are two different attributes behind the same low-Health condition, rather than one combined defensive percentage.

Editorial recommendation: watch what happens when Hector crosses the threshold in actual Arena or Exploration fights. The question is whether he survives and continues attacking, not simply whether the bonuses look large. A comparison with Ahmose should distinguish Hector’s conditional personal strength from Ahmose’s nearby-ally protection and follow-up recovery.

Rampant is strongest early, then declines

Rampant boosts Infantry and Marksman damage for ten attacks, with different starting values for the two troop types. At skill level 5 the listed starting bonuses are 200% for Infantry and 100% for Marksmen. On each following attack, the boost is 85% of the previous one.

This is a shrinking bonus over a limited number of attacks, not a permanent 200%/100% increase throughout the battle. Keeping 85% of the previous boost also is not the same calculation as subtracting 85 percentage points. No bonus to Lancers is stated in this skill.

Other Expedition skillEffectHow to read it
Survival Instincts40% chance to reduce all troops’ damage taken by 10% to 50%A defensive proc, not guaranteed protection on every hit.
Blitz25% chance to deal 120% to 200% damage on attackThe chance stays fixed while the listed damage value increases.

For rally joining, Survival Instincts is Hector’s first Expedition skill and is eligible for a selected support slot when he is the flagged lead hero. Do not assess that joining role as if Rampant were the shared first skill. A rally captain’s own hero squad supplies its broader Expedition skill set, and the roles therefore call for different comparisons.

Steel Fangs and recovery during the whirlwind

Reaper’s Embrace extends Sword Whirlwind by 1.5 seconds at skill level 5 and restores Hector’s Health by 15% of damage dealt during that effect. The four-second base window therefore becomes 5.5 seconds. The recovery scales from damage dealt, not a fixed percentage of maximum Health.

Goliath increases defending troops’ Attack by 15% at skill level 5. It is the defender side of Steel Fangs, separate from Hector’s personal Attack Speed and low-Health skills. The weapon’s reference stat bonuses remain separate from the hero-stat panel.

Acquisition and shard planning

Lucky Wheel, Hall of Heroes and Daily Deals are listed acquisition routes; check current state availability. Mythic General Hero Shards can be used for an already recruited eligible hero, so do not treat a stockpile of general shards as a substitute for unlocking Hector first.

Recruitment costs 10 shards and the five promotion stages require another 1,065, for 1,075 from locked to five stars. His displayed Infantry Attack and Defense are 444.35% each. Hero and weapon figures are reference values with development conditions not fully specified, so compare the skills and equipment you can actually field.
