Description

Eugene is a Rare Infantry hero whose axe serves two jobs: nearby damage in hero battles and a wood-focused economy role. Woodland Inheritor improves City Sawmill Output, while Master Woodcutter improves Wood Gathering Speed on the map. His personal skills lean toward damage, giving him a different combat emphasis from fellow Rare Infantry hero Smith.

His listed shard routes are Exploration, Lighthouse Intel and Hero Recruitment. He is part of the starting Rare roster, which this catalog retains in its G1 starting group rather than treating it as a later numbered Legendary release.

Wood production and wood gathering

Woodland Inheritor raises City Sawmill Output by 5% / 10% / 15% / 20% / 25%. This supports the city’s wood production. It is separate from the amount or rate of resources collected from a map deposit.

Master Woodcutter increases Wood Gathering Speed on the map by 5% / 10% / 15% / 20% / 25%. It is a gathering-rate benefit for Wood, not an all-resource boost, a carrying-capacity increase or a construction-cost discount.

Choose between those priorities based on where your wood is coming from. The two skills improve different processes; their percentages should not be combined into one blanket bonus to every source of wood.

His axe in hero battles

  • Axe Whirl: damages nearby enemies every half-second over three seconds. Its listed value is damage per interval, so do not treat one coefficient as the total for the whole ability.
  • Razor Sharp: improves the axe’s damage per second. Keep this personal damage effect separate from Eugene’s economic Expedition skills.

Where Eugene fits

JobPractical assessment
City wood productionWoodland Inheritor is the relevant skill. Consider it when Sawmill output is useful to your current resource plan.
Map wood gatheringMaster Woodcutter is the relevant skill. Check the gathering display for a Wood deposit rather than expecting the same benefit at Iron, Coal or Meat deposits.
Early hero battlesHis personal kit offers repeated nearby damage. Evaluate that contribution with your available team rather than assuming the Infantry class automatically makes him a defensive support hero.
Combat ralliesHis Expedition skills improve the economy rather than directly buffing troop combat. Do not select him for a battle-support role merely because his power or class looks suitable.

Skill development priorities

Editorial recommendation: develop Eugene around the wood activity you use most. City production points toward Woodland Inheritor; map gathering points toward Master Woodcutter. You can assess that economic value independently of whether he still has a place in your fighting lineup.

Spend on Axe Whirl and Razor Sharp when you actually use him in hero battles and need that damage contribution. For comparison, Smith combines Iron-focused economic skills with personal damage reduction. Their shared rarity and troop class do not make their resource roles or combat passives interchangeable.
