Description
Magnus is a Generation 9 Legendary Infantry hero who draws enemies into close-range axe attacks and supports a mixed troop formation. His reputation comes with a storyteller’s warning: the spectacular adventures in his books are not all established facts. Bahiti regularly challenges his exaggerations, although the two explorers have also survived danger by working together. That mix of real courage and theatrical self-promotion gives Magnus a distinctive place in the roster.
Taking attention while dealing repeated damage
Frozen Fury taunts nearby enemies into attacking Magnus while he deals damage around himself every half-second for three seconds. Each tick reaches 84% of his Attack at skill level 5. The attraction is local rather than a promise that every enemy anywhere on the field changes target.
Wind Tomahawk targets an enemy hero with an initial axe hit and a three-second wound effect. At level 5, it deals 140% of Attack initially, followed by 70% of Attack each second. Its timing is different from Frozen Fury’s half-second interval.
Sunderer gives normal attacks a fixed 30% chance to deal additional damage and lower the target’s Defense for two seconds. At level 5, the extra damage is 70% of Attack and the Defense reduction is 25%. Skill upgrades improve those effect values rather than turning the 30% activation chance into a guarantee.
Editorial recommendation: test Magnus’s survival during Frozen Fury, when his taunt directs pressure toward him. His area damage is useful only while he can remain in the fight. Also watch whether the team can use Sunderer’s short Defense-reduction window instead of assuming the debuff is always active.
Expedition: distinguish the trigger from the benefit
| Skill | Role | Level-5 value |
|---|---|---|
| Rapacious | Raises Attack for all friendly troops | 25% Attack |
| Iron Phalanx | Infantry attacks have a 40% chance to trigger a one-turn Defense bonus | 50% Defense |
| Iceman | Protects Infantry and strengthens Marksman damage | 10% less Infantry damage taken; 10% more Marksman damage |
Iron Phalanx is triggered when Infantry attack, not when they take damage. Infantry benefit from its Defense increase.
Iceman has a clear two-class split. It reduces damage taken by friendly Infantry and increases damage dealt by friendly Marksmen. Rapacious supports the whole friendly formation with Attack. These are different attributes and beneficiaries, so combining them into a single universal percentage would be misleading.
Storm Axe
Heroic Stock reduces incoming damage to Magnus by 15% at weapon skill level 5. It also increases his Defense by 75% while Frozen Fury is active. That timed Defense increase helps explain the weapon’s relationship with his taunting skill; it is not a permanent 75% Defense bonus outside the skill window.
Valoric Inspiration increases Defender Squads’ Health by 15% at skill level 5. This Expedition effect supports defenders rather than modifying the damage ticks of Frozen Fury. The weapon’s reference stat bonuses are listed with its effects below the regular skills.
Acquisition and development
Hall of Heroes is a listed acquisition route for Magnus. Check the generation offered in your state’s current shop before committing resources. He requires 10 shards to recruit and another 1,065 across the five promotion stages, totaling 1,075 from locked to five stars.
His displayed Infantry Attack and Defense are 940.75% each. The hero and weapon figures are reference values. Use the skill levels you can actually field and the survivability of your formation as the basis for comparisons.
