Ling Xue

Ling Xue is an Epic Lancer with the Growth subclass and two opposite health-based bonuses in hero battles. Galeforce raises her Attack above half Health, while Desperate Measures raises her Defense below half Health. Alongside her forward-area strike, that gives her a changing combat profile as a fight develops. Her separate city-development benefit is Training Speed.

She belongs to the starting Epic roster, which this catalog keeps in its G1 grouping rather than treating it as a later numbered Legendary release. Decide whether you are developing her for hero battles, defensive troop support or the training benefit; those roles depend on different skills.

Her high-health and low-health bonuses

Galeforce increases Attack by 16% / 24% / 32% / 40% / 48% while Ling Xue is above 50% Health. Desperate Measures increases Defense by 50% / 75% / 100% / 125% / 150% while she is below 50% Health.

Keep each bonus tied to its stated health condition. A large Defense percentage is a stat increase, not that percentage of damage reduction, and neither skill restores her Health. In practice, look at whether the team can keep her contributing through the fight rather than treating the low-health bonus as guaranteed safety.

What the rest of her kit adds

• Forward-area damage: Hurricane Whirl hits the area ahead using an Attack multiplier that rises from 300% to 420%. Check whether her positioning lets that area catch useful targets.
• Enemy Attack reduction: Fearsome Aura lowers Attack for all enemy troops in Expedition. It is a defensive influence on the opposing army, not an increase to your own troop damage.
• Training utility: Total Control increases Training Speed by 4% / 8% / 12% / 16% / 20%. It does not replace a combat skill with a hidden Attack or Defense bonus.

Where to use Ling Xue

Skill development priorities

Editorial recommendation: prioritize Total Control when the training benefit is your reason for developing her. Prioritize Fearsome Aura when you deliberately use her for defensive rally support. The latter is an enemy Attack debuff; keep it distinct from direct damage-reduction skills when comparing options.

For Arena and Exploration, Hurricane Whirl supplies her active damage. Galeforce strengthens the high-health portion of a fight, while Desperate Measures addresses low-health Defense. Choose the next upgrade based on the fights you are actually seeing rather than assuming both conditional bonuses are permanent.
