Description
Fred is a Generation 9 Legendary Lancer who weakens enemies while turning removed combat bonuses into a potential defensive advantage. A veteran fire chief from the Solaris capital, he carries the memory of a catastrophe he could not prevent. His renewed commitment to the Dawn Alliance gives his firefighting theme a broader purpose: protecting survivors from the destruction of war.
A damage window and a dispel
Acid Rain damages enemies in the target area every half-second for three seconds and increases their damage taken by 15%. At skill level 5, each tick is 84% of Fred’s Attack. The damage-taken increase stays at 15% across the listed skill levels; it does not rise with the tick coefficient.
Water Cannon deals a heavy hit and removes combat bonuses from its target. The level-5 damage is 280% of Attack. Its dispel is the important extra function to watch: the ability is more than a damage button when the opponent has removable bonuses active.
Perfect Responder increases Fred’s Attack and Defense while his Health is below 50%. At level 5, the bonuses are 24% Attack and 75% Defense. That threshold is a condition, not a healing effect or a guarantee that he survives the next hit.
Editorial recommendation: in Arena or Exploration, check whether Water Cannon is removing useful enemy bonuses and whether allies capitalize on Acid Rain’s vulnerability window. Fred’s low-Health response can matter in a close fight, but deliberately treating him as safe below half Health would ignore incoming burst damage.
Expedition: weaken the formation and expose Infantry
| Skill | Target or trigger | Level-5 effect |
|---|---|---|
| Hydraulic Suppression | All enemy troops | 20% less Lethality |
| Acidification | Enemy Infantry | 20% more damage taken |
| Floodbringer | Every four Lancer attacks | 200% extra damage; all enemy troops deal 20% less damage on the next turn |
Hydraulic Suppression lowers Lethality. Floodbringer’s later debuff lowers damage dealt. Those are different effects, so their percentages should not be combined into a single stated reduction in the enemy’s final damage.
Acidification specifically makes enemy Infantry more vulnerable; it is not a Defense reduction applied to every troop class. Floodbringer belongs to Fred’s Lancers and counts their attacks, rather than triggering every four seconds or automatically every four troop turns. Its enemy damage penalty applies on the following turn.
Blazebearer rewards successful dispels
Idealism raises Fred’s Attack by 24% at weapon skill level 5. It also grants 10% Defense for each bonus dispelled, lasting until the battle ends and stacking up to five times. The stack condition is a removed bonus, not merely casting Water Cannon into a target with nothing to remove.
This creates a useful distinction when comparing opponents. A battle with removable combat bonuses offers opportunities to build Idealism’s Defense stacks; a matchup without those opportunities should not be evaluated as though Fred begins fully stacked. The weapon’s stack mechanic also remains separate from Perfect Responder’s below-half-Health condition.
Call of the Firefighter increases Rally Troops’ Attack by 15% at skill level 5. That Expedition rally benefit does not transfer Fred’s dispel or conditional hero Defense into troop combat. Weapon reference stats are listed below with the two effects.
Acquisition and development
Lucky Wheel is Fred’s listed acquisition route. Check which hero is featured in your state’s current event before spending resources. Recruiting him takes 10 shards; another 1,065 are required across the five promotion stages, for a total of 1,075 from locked to five stars.
His displayed Lancer Attack and Defense are 940.75% each. Hero and weapon figures are reference values. Compare attainable skill levels and the enemy bonuses you actually face rather than relying on the largest possible combination of conditional effects.
